Job Description:

Position OverviewOur Float Pool team is looking for a Patient Care Tech.This is a PRN shift position.ResponsibilitiesCollects, reports, and documents data: Vital signs, height and weight, intake and output, and collects specimens and immediately notifies patient's nurse or Charge RN of abnormalitiesAssists with patient activities and care as assigned by the Charge RN as indicated by the patient's plan of careProvides for patients' personal hygiene including: Baths, oral care, linen change, non-invasive and non-sterile treatments, skin care, assistance with elimination, care of incontinent patient, urinary catheter care, vaginal irrigations and cleansing enemasAssists with feeding, documenting intakeAmbulates, positions/repositions patients with altered mobilityCompletes treatments, interventions, tests, and procedures in timely and accurate mannerNotifies patient's nurse or Charge RN of change in patient conditionManages patient crisis appropriatelyProvides emotional support to patients and significant othersFunctions as advocate to patients and significant othersEstablishes and maintains a therapeutic relationship with patients/significant othersIncorporates cultural/religious/psychosocial aspects of illness/hospitalization for patients/significant others into plan of careReports risk management and patient safety concerns to appropriate personsComplies with the National Patient Safety GoalsParticipates in full continuum of Core MeasuresServes as resource for unit functioning, i.e., equipment repairs, supplies, use of infrequently used equipmentQualificationsMinimum of a High School Diploma, or equivalent requiredMinimum of one (1) year of hospital Med/Surg tech experience strongly preferredAmerican Heart Association (AHA) approved Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hireCertification from an accredited nursing assistant program (CNA) preferredPhlebotomy certificate preferredDemonstrates flexibility with work assignments, willing to cross-train and float to other areas as neededWhat we offerCompetitive Pay + Shift Differentials Matching 401(k)Clinical Ladder ProgramOpportunities for career advancementRewards and recognition programsAdditional perks and discountsAt Cedar Park Regional Medical Center, we foster a culture of compassion, excellence, and community.
