Patient CareTechs II are responsible for the following:
- Assists in the admitting, transporting, and transferring of patients.
- Responds to bedside alarms, ventilator alarms, and call bells.
- Provides care to patients and prioritizes based on care requirements delegated by the RN.
Under the supervision of a registered nurse, the Patient Care Tech participates in the delivery of patient care within the critical care environment.
Qualifications - High School Diploma or GED
- PCT or EMT or CNA certification required
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification required
- PALS strongly preferred in units caring for pediatric patient population
- Completion of advanced clinical course preferred
- Handle with Care certification preferred
- Dysrhythmia course certification preferred
- Two years nursing assistant, PCT or healthcare experience required - certification and completion of advances skills and knowledge training within 6 months of hire accepted in lieu of experience requirement
