Overview

Patient Care Tech- Internal Resource Pool (Float)

Full-Time or Part-Time

Days or Nights, weekend and holiday rotation

Benefits Eligible

Shift differential and float premiums for eligible shifts

Full-Time $3,000 sign-on bonus for qualifying candidates

The Internal Resource Team (IRT) provides support and additional resources to nursing units throughout UnityPoint Health—Des Moines during times of vacancy, high acuity, and census variations. The IRT provides support for 17 adult, Medical/Surgical, inpatient nursing units at Iowa Methodist Medical Center, Iowa Lutheran Hospital, and Methodist West Hospital.

Responsibilities
  • PCTs will perform patient care and treatments under supervision of a RN. Provides and documents care including, but not limited to, activities of daily living, mobility, specimen collection and respiratory support activities as directed by the RN.
  • Possess the ability to lift, move, position and transport patients.
  • Demonstrates the ability to meet the department work schedule.
  • Demonstrates initiative to improve quality of care, patient and employee safety, and customer service.
  • Team members under the age of 18 may not independently operate mechanical lift equipment.
Qualifications
  • Must be 16 years old or older.
  • Minimum of 75 hour Certified Nursing Aid certification required. Indicate on your application which CNA certification you possess (75 hour, 120 hour or 150 hour). Only applications with this information indicated will be considered.
  • Dept of Labor Level III (Medium) Work. Candidates must successfully complete a post-offer, pre-employment strength and agility test at Medium Level of Work.
