Job Summary and Qualifications

Patient Care Technician (PCT) delivers high quality, patient-centered care by performing a variety of delegated basic patient care services related to common nursing functions and activities of daily living. Under the supervision of the registered nurse (RN), the PCT assists the nursing staff in providing patient care in accordance with the PCTs skills/training and the needs of the Department, and consistently assists the patient care team with maintaining a clean, well-organized, and safe patient care environment. The PCT complies with all hospital policies/procedures and observes the State Board of Nursing rules for unlicensed personnel.

What you will do in this role:

• You will demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate care for patient populations served in his/her department.
• You will maintain a safe environment
• You will communicate pertinent information to appropriate individuals
• You will deliver compassionate, holistic care, while supporting the rights and dignity of all patients
• You will document patient care information in the appropriate computer screens
• You will assist with ADLs for assigned patients

What qualifications you will need:

• High school diploma or GED Required
• State CNA certification or documented PCT experience required.
• Can be former RN Nursing student who had successfully?completed the first nursing clinical semester or?Completion of State approved CNA course,?or CNA certificate
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification current or to be obtained within required timeframe.
• 1 year PCT experience preferred

Parkridge East Hospital is a 120+ bed facility in East Ridge. We provide a full range of medical and surgical services. These services include orthopedics and robotic surgery. We have a 24/7 Emergency Department. This ED is recognized by the Society of Chest Pain Centers as an Accredited Chest Pain Center. The facility also offers obstetrical care and complex gynecological procedures. We also hold a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Specialized providers in the NICU include neonatologists, neonatal nurses and respiratory therapists. These staff are on site at all times. Visit us for excellent general and OB care!
