Job Description:
Departmental OverviewNorman Regional Health System's Intermediate Care (IMC) staff cares for a wide variety of patients with complex medical conditions requiring intermediate or critical care. NRHS is an accredited primary stroke center and the IMC is our dedicated stroke unit for the health system. Our team is award winning (Women's Choice award and American Heart Association/Get with the Guidelines award) and works in collaboration with other departments and our stroke coordinator to provide this award winning care. We utilize our Norman Regional's core values of Integrity, Communication, Attitude, Results, and Engagement to not only provide excellent care to our patients and their families, but to maintain a culture of respect and safety while promoting teamwork as healthcare professionals. Job Summary
  • Provides basic patient care.
  • Assists in the maintenance of a safe and clean environment.
  • Takes and records vital sign (VS) data and relays to patient's nurse.
  • Provides general nursing care and routine treatment /procedures.
  • Facilitates processing of patients
  • Provides clerical receptionist support
  • Provides Coordinating Support
  • Performs additional duties related to the specific needs of the department
QualificationsEducation
  • High School diploma or equivalent GED.
  • Certification as a nursing assistant or 6 months of recent experience as a nursing assistant.
Experience
  • Certified Nursing Assistant preferred. Six (6) months of recent experience as a nursing assistant.
  • Current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant or one clinical semester of nursing school or successful completion of an acute care nurse aide course; or six (6) months previous experience in a healthcare position can be substituted for the experience.
(Above requirements can be met by the equivalent combination of education and experience).Licensure/Certification
  • Basic Life Support *(BLS) training or re-training is required during orientation prior to providing patient care.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to be maintained through re-training for duration of employment.
Compensation/Benefits
  • $X-$Y/hr depending on previous work experience.
