DescriptionThe Patient Care Technician participates in the multi-disciplinary process of providing care and service to patients and their families via selective clinical tasks.24 hours per week, days, evenings, including some weekend hours.MAY WORK AT MULTIPLE URGENT CARE CENTERSClinical tasks will be performed within a limited scope of practice consistent with NYS Education Department rules and regulation.These tasks include but are not limited to:Inventorying supplies, putting away stock, rooming patients, taking vitals, weights, performing EKGs, specimen collection and medical record documentation.Actively supports providers & nurses & be an enthusiastic participant in departmental meetings & actively identify in ways to improve processes & service to patients.The PCT functions under direct supervision of the Office Manager and Nurse Leader/Nurse Manager/Medical Director and under the daily guidance of providers.The individual must be able to manage demanding workload with accuracy and represent the Urgent Care and staff professionally.Position requires excellent customer service skills with patients, their families, other staff physicians & providers, the management team, vendors and to the public.Actively guards the confidentiality of sensitive info including but not limited to the patients, staff and the health system.Can successfully complete the Hospital orientation program and department specific orientation.Qualifications:Required - High School Diploma or equivalent.Required: BLS certification.Required - Medical background.Computer knowledge and skills including but not limited to Outlook and Microsoft Office required.Preferred - PCT experience preferred.Strong EMR experience preferred.Ability to attain and maintain lab collection privileges once employed.Benefits:Health, dental, vision insuranceTuition reimbursement up to $6000/yearContribution and match on Retirement PlanFour weeks paid time offAccess to Success coachesFree parkingCompany Culture:Thompson Health has a culture of empowerment.
