Job Description
** General Summary**
Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse and in accordance with the Nursing Care Plan performs delegated competency validated patient care functions and applies technical skills of a limited uncomplicated nature. Fulfillment of the job duties requires the employee to have access to medication storage areas and to transport medications to/ from medication storage and delivery areas.

** Education & Experience**
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Maryland Nursing Assistant Certification required
- Completion of one of the following training programs: hospital based program, community college, Emergency Medical Technician, Medical Corpsmen, or successful completion of Fundamentals/Foundation of Nursing course (under RN program) required.
- Employees with work experience that provide on the job training equivalent to the above programs can be considered as a substitute to a formal PCT training program.
- Minimum of one year of recent, direct patient care experience required.
- Current CPR certification is required.

- Ability to utilize universal safety precautions and to act appropriately in emergency situations.
- Ability to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the patient population(s) served. Ability to demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possesses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's requirements relative to his or her population-specific and age specific needs.
- Highly effective verbal communication and interpersonal skills with patients, visitors and other healthcare team members to establish working relationships that foster optimal quality of patient care.
