Our company offers great benefits. Primary Responsibilities:
- Provides patient care under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse.
- Responsible for the delivery of this care to assigned patients.
- Provides treatment technique for assigned patients as prescribed. This includes all aspects of the hemodialysis procedure.
- Responsible for accurate documentation of information related to the patient treatment. This information is documented by the technician in the appropriate patient record.
- Reports any significant information or change in patient condition to the charge nurse.
- Familiar with all emergency operational procedures.
- Safely operates all dialysis-related equipment.
- Provides minor trouble shooting when necessary.
- Familiar with all emergency equipment.
- Participates in staff meetings as scheduled.
- Assists in patient care meetings when appropriate.
- Acquires information in the latest development of dialysis technique by participating in scheduled in-service classes.
QualificationsSkills / Requirements:
- High school graduate
- Newly employed patient care technicians with no previous dialysis will obtain CCHT certification through a CMS approved National Certification Program for ESRD patient care technician certification within 18 months of being hired as a dialysis patient care technician.
- CPR certification
- Completed course in theory and practice of hemodialysis.
- Be able to lift up to 30 pounds
Pluses:
- Education in physical sciences and/or training in laboratory techniques preferred.
- Previous patient care experience in a hospital setting or related facility preferred.
- Experienced patient care technicians must be certified under a State Certification program as a certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technician (CCHT or CHT).
