Join the UPMC team and make a difference today!Responsibilities:Assist with patient care & daily activities.Perform core nursing assistant duties (e.g., blood glucose monitoring, vital signs, specimen collection, Foley care)Monitor patient status and report changes to the RN.Communicate effectively with healthcare team members and other departments.Assist with patient restraints and provide instruction to patients and families under RN direction.Support unit activities, including call light response, meal tray delivery, and patient transport.Maintain safety and adhere to hospital policies and procedures.Document patient care in medical records and perform clerical duties as needed.Engage in department projects and quality initiatives.Strong work ethic, team player, positive outlook, loves to learn, strong customer service skills strongly preferredHigh school diploma or equivalent.One of the following:a) 1 year of general healthcare experienceb) 6 months as UPMC Nursing Assistant/CNA with PCT competency within 120 daysc) Enrollment in PT/OT/PA or related healthcare program with at least one clinical rotation completedd) Bachelor's degree in a health sciences field.Successful completion of UPMC Patient Care Technician class.Effective oral and written communication skills.Limited access to medications for nurse distribution.Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) within 30 days of hire (AHA standards).ACLS preferred.Act 33, Act 34, with renewals.UPMC is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Disability/Veteran
