The Patient Clerical Assistant performs clerical and receptionist duties for the Observation unit. Job duties affect patient care through the completion of tasks which permit others to provide direct patient care. Work requires communication outside of the work group and external contacts require providing or obtaining factual information.
Part time - rotating day/evening7am-3pm and 3pm-11pm works every 3rd weekend rotating Saturday and SundayEducation/Work Experience: - High School Diploma or equivalency required.
- Associates degree preferred.
- One (1) year demonstrated experience interacting with the public.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: - Strong interpersonal skills including sensitivity, maturity, and tact necessary to communicate effectively with patients, family members and co-workers, and the ability to work efficiently with episodic interruptions in work flow.
- Ability to problem solve, anticipate needs and take initiative are required.
- Ability to use a computer (Epic, SAP, Transquest, and HillRom), following clear instructions and procedures for looking up relevant data and sending and receiving emails.
- Must be able to pass all hospital competencies required for the position.
- Knowledge of SAP is preferred.
Salary Range: Minimum 17.87 per hour - Maximum 20.60 per hour.
