Job DescriptionPatient Clinic Representative - AideFLSA Classification: Non-exemptReports to: Clinical ManagerJob Summary/Objective:The Adult Clinic-PCR Aide facilitates patient care by scheduling patient appointments, assisting with patient care, and making referral appointments for patients. Performs all defined services and other related duties in accordance with the mission of Peoples Community Health Clinic (PCHC).Protected Health Information Requirements/Access:* This position will require the use or disclosure of protected health Information.* This position will use the Treatment class of protected health information.* Restrictions on the protected health information for this position will follow the Privacy Policies of Peoples Community Health Clinic, Inc.* Use or disclosure of protected health information not routinely available to this position will follow procedures assessed by or directed by management.* Patient Records - Yes Medical Information System - YesEssential Functions:Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.* Assists nursing staff and providers with patient care.* Maintains the cleanliness and supplies of the clinical area.* Backs up referral coordinator as needed.* Backs up scheduler as needed.* Manages patient flow in the patient care area. (Pod coordinator)* Supports a service-oriented atmosphere in accordance with Peoples Community Health Clinic Mission and Philosophy.* Works to improve work processes and clinical outcomes including health disparity and quality improvement collaboratives.* Follows policies and procedures.* Develops and maintains own competence.* Maintains a safe working environment and practices safe working habits.* Assists in control of Peoples Community Health Clinic resources.Competencies:* Basic language, intermediate reasoning ability* Communication - listening, speaking, writing, and reading comprehension* Ability to work with diverse groups of people* Basic working knowledge of MS Office Products (ex. Excel, Word, Access, Power Point) and Windows Platform. Must be comfortable moving within an EHR computer system regularly.* Ability to work with a large degree of independence* Adaptability and flexibility* Assists with treatments* Demonstrates a cooperative and courteous manner towards patients, families, and visitors while carrying out job functions* Proactively manages daily schedules* Ability and willingness to learn computer system* Maintains strict confidence* Planning and organizingSupervisory Responsibilities:* Not applicable.Patient Population:* All adult populationsWork Environment/Personal Protective Equipment:* This position might be exposed to chemical, and blood borne pathogen hazard to eyes and hands, bloody/fluid hazard to torso and respiratory. PPE required.Physical Demands:This position requires occasional sitting -(1%-33% of shift); frequent standing (34% - 66% of shift; occasional walking -(1%-33% of shift); occasional lifting and carrying up to 10 lbs. (1% - 33% of shift); frequent pushing/pulling up to 10 lbs.(34%-66% of shift) and occasionally 11lbs. - 100lbs (1% - 33% of shift); frequent use of hands/arms for repetitive movement and continuous finger dexterity; occasional bending/stooping, twisting, squatting/crouching, and reaching at, below and above shoulder level (1% - 33% of shift).Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:This is a full-time position. Typically work hours and days are between Monday and Friday,8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and some flexibility in hours is allowed. Responsibilities occasionally may require irregular hours as deemed necessary. This may include an adjusted work schedule, long days, and early morning or late evening hours in order to meet client scheduling demands. The employee must work a minimum of 40.0 hours each week to maintain full-time status.Travel:Occasional driving might be expected for this position.Education and Experience:* High School diploma or GED equivalent required.* Completion of Nurse Aide I course, or Medical Assistant program required.
