Patient Clinic Representative - Aide
FLSA Classification: Non-exempt
Reports to: Clinical Manager
Job Summary/Objective:
The Adult Clinic-PCR Aide facilitates patient care by scheduling patient appointments, assisting with patient care, and making referral appointments for patients. Performs all defined services and other related duties in accordance with the mission of Peoples Community Health Clinic (PCHC).

* Restrictions on the protected health information for this position will follow the Privacy Policies of Peoples Community Health Clinic, Inc.

Essential Functions:

* Assists nursing staff and providers with patient care.
* Maintains the cleanliness and supplies of the clinical area.
* Backs up referral coordinator as needed.
* Backs up scheduler as needed.
* Manages patient flow in the patient care area. (Pod coordinator)
* Supports a service-oriented atmosphere in accordance with Peoples Community Health Clinic Mission and Philosophy.
* Works to improve work processes and clinical outcomes including health disparity and quality improvement collaboratives.
* Follows policies and procedures.

* Assists in control of Peoples Community Health Clinic resources.

* Basic language, intermediate reasoning ability
* Communication - listening, speaking, writing, and reading comprehension

* Basic working knowledge of MS Office Products (ex. Excel, Word, Access, Power Point) and Windows Platform. Must be comfortable moving within an EHR computer system regularly.

Work Environment/Personal Protective Equipment:
* This position might be exposed to chemical, and blood borne pathogen hazard to eyes and hands, bloody/fluid hazard to torso and respiratory. PPE required.
Physical Demands:
This position requires occasional sitting -(1%-33% of shift); frequent standing (34% - 66% of shift; occasional walking -(1%-33% of shift); occasional lifting and carrying up to 10 lbs. (1% - 33% of shift); frequent pushing/pulling up to 10 lbs.(34%-66% of shift) and occasionally 11lbs. - 100lbs (1% - 33% of shift); frequent use of hands/arms for repetitive movement and continuous finger dexterity; occasional bending/stooping, twisting, squatting/crouching, and reaching at, below and above shoulder level (1% - 33% of shift).
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Typically work hours and days are between Monday and Friday,8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and some flexibility in hours is allowed. Responsibilities occasionally may require irregular hours as deemed necessary. This may include an adjusted work schedule, long days, and early morning or late evening hours in order to meet client scheduling demands. The employee must work a minimum of 40.0 hours each week to maintain full-time status.
Travel:
Occasional driving might be expected for this position.
Education and Experience:
* High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
* Completion of Nurse Aide I course, or Medical Assistant program required. Other formal school programs may be considered.
* Minimum of 1 year patient care experience preferred.
