Responsibilities:
  • Provides 1:1 direct observation to assigned patient to prevent patient self-injury in a situation where patient/family is unable to do so.
  • Communicates with assigned nursing/nursing support staff on assigned area immediately in case of emergency, or as needed to provide patient care on routine basis.
  • Demonstrates initiative to improve quality and customer service.
  • Abides by all hospital and departmental policies.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with people of diverse professional, educational and lifestyle backgrounds.
  • Demonstrates the UnityPoint Health Values and Standards of Behaviors as well as adheres to policies and procedures and safety guidelines.
  • Demonstrates ability to meet business needs of department with regular, reliable attendance.
  • Employee maintains current licenses and/or certifications required for the position.
  • Practices and reflects knowledge of HIPAA, TJC, DNV, OSHA and other federal/state regulatory agencies guiding healthcare.
Qualifications:

High School graduate or GED.

Familiarity with healthcare environment preferred.
