SummaryThe Patient Companion/Transporter will support the care of individuals who require full 24-hour observation for their safety. In this role, the employee will:* Support a work environment that promotes safety for patients, staff, and customers.* Report safety concerns or defective equipment.* Maintain awareness of safety at all times. Provide continuous observation of assigned patients to promote safety and prevention of injury.* Maintain continuous observation as needed. Either personally or by safely transferring observation to another team member.* Collect and report data about the patient/family as directed by Registered Nurse.* Remain alert for, and report changes related to patient safety.* Promptly call for assistance as needed.Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities* High School Diploma or equivalent required* Strong attention to detail* Must be able to observe patient visually as well as listening skills. Assist patient in and out of bed when appropriate.* Will be oriented to provide basic patient care duties.* Excellent communication skills.Required Licensure or Certification* Must obtain BLS during orientation* Annual N-95 mask fit test* CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention)
