Job Overview:
The Patient Escort transports patients within the hospital network in wheelchairs and stretchers from time of admission until discharge.
Qualifications:
Required:
* High School diploma or equivalent
Preferred:
* AHA BLS
Scheduling Requirements:
* 3:00pm-11:30pm
* Rotating weekends and holidays
* Full Time
Essential Functions:
* Demonstrates ability to interact and communicate appropriately with patients
* Functions in an emergency situation as a team member with guidance from supervisory personnel
* Maintains patient transport equipment (i.e. wheelchairs) in a safe manner
* Picks up and delivers equipment and specimens as requested
* Properly identifies the patient
* Records assignments in the Escort Log, signing patient on and off units
* Reports any equipment problems immediately to appropriate personnel
* Transports patients in a safe and timely manner
* Transports patients throughout various units/departments within Center
