Job Summary: The Patient Escort is responsible for transporting hospital and ambulatory patients using wheelchairs, stretchers, or hydraulic stretchers to their designated appointments. This role emphasizes excellent customer service and adherence to safety protocols.Job Duties/Responsibilities:

Daily Disinfection & Tracking:

Complete the Daily Disinfection & Tracking Log for each patient escorted, documenting:

Completion Time

Sanitation Protocols:

• Sanitize the wheelchair prior to each use, following the Wheelchair High-Touch Disinfection/Inspection Protocol.

Patient Assistance:

• Follow the Equipment Checklist for assisting patients on and off the wheelchair.
• Transport patients safely and promptly from the Entry Point to their initial appointment.

Customer Service:

• Provide courteous and professional service to all patients and their caregivers, ensuring a positive experience.
• Navigation & Communication:
• Follow directions accurately, navigate the campus independently, and maintain good communication with patients and staff.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to push patients weighing 200 pounds or more in a wheelchair.

Minimum Qualifications:Education:

• Required: High school diploma.

Experience:

• Required: Minimum of 1 year in patient care and substantial customer service experience.
• Preferred: Strong customer service skills and ability to safely push patients weighing at least 200 lbs.
