Patient Registration Representative

Pride Health is hiring a Patient Registration Representative for one of its clients in Clinton Township, Michigan.

This is a 3-month contract with a possible extension with competitive pay and benefits.

Location Clinton Township, Michigan 48035

Pay range - $17 - $18.50 per hour.

Length of assignment 3 months (With possible extension)

Shift Monday - Friday varies depending on the day. Shift will rotate between 7 am - 8 pm (M/T), 7 am - 5 pm (W/Th) 7 am - 4 pm (F). The office is open one or two Saturdays a month 7a -11a. Will only work one long day per week on a rotating M/T basis and have hours adjusted through the week to be no more than 40 hrs/wk.

Job Duties

  • Under general supervision, standard operating procedures and protocols for all bedside patient registration activities including patient reception, face-to-face check-in, preregistration, confirmation of insurance eligibility, and cash collections.
  • Performs new patient registration; updates registration and insurance information; responds to inquiries from all callers/customers.
  • Advocates on the caller/customer's behalf to ensure their needs are met.
  • Acts as a welcoming front door for all callers/customers, instilling loyalty and anticipating needs, while providing efficient, effective customer relationship management.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate required.
  • Must have Family Practice experience.
  • Required Skills & Experience:
  • One (1) year of experience related to patient admission, registration, and/or insurance eligibility and verification in a hospital or medical office setting.
  • Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to meet or exceed core customer service responsibilities, standards, and behaviors effectively over the telephone, in person, and in writing with patients, visitors, and clinical/non-clinical staff.
  • Must be willing to be on your feet for long periods and able to instruct others.
  • Ability to perform a variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
  • Preferred Skills & Experience:
  • EPIC training/experience.
  • Insurance payor systems experience.
  • ICD-10 medical terminology experience.
