Must be able to commit to this schedule while in school.Looking for candidates who have a passion for pediatrics and looking to gain some experience in our hospital. You will float throughout our inpatient units assigned to patients that require a sitter for their safety. Targeting start date of December 9, 2024. New hires will be required to attend new employee welcome session from 9a-4pm on that date. Student applicants who have classes or clinical on that date will need to make alternate arrangements with their faculty.Prefer junior and senior nursing students who don't graduate before December 2025Under the direction of a registered nurse, provides supervision to assigned patients. Acts to ensure patient safety through continual surveillance &/or basic interventions. Performs basic activities for which competence is demonstrated through the Patient Safety Companion (PSC) skills checklist. High school degree or equivalent and six months of health care experience OR a current nursing student. Effective interpersonal and communication skills necessary to interact courteously and tactfully with patients, parents/families and members of the health care team. Rudimentary assessment and analytical skills in order to perform basic patient observations. Knowledge of computer and keyboard. Functional sight, hearing and speech.
