Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
* BSN obtained within 12 months of hire date into this position
* Working knowledge of nursing in a hospital setting
* Understanding of accreditation and regulatory requirements as they relate to patient safety and performance improvement
* Working knowledge of quality improvement tools, data analysis and statistics, and publicly reported patient safety initiatives
* Well developed communication skills, both oral and written
Licensure/Registration/Certification:
* Alabama RN License
Desired Qualifications:
* MSN or MN
* Experience with the Root Cause Analysis and Failure Mode Effect Analysis processes
* Ability to critically analyze reasearch articles and appropriately apply findings to practice
* Successful completion of a Clinical Nurse Leader education master's program or experience in a CNL role
* CPHQ certification
Responsibilities
Establishes and coordinates a System wide patient safety program that fosters ongoing improvement in patient safety and complies with accreditation and regulatory standards. Works with executives, management, hospital and medical staff to develop a culture of safety and medical error prevention.
