Job Summary and Qualifications

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Patient Safety Screener/Concierge participates in high quality, patient-centered care responsible for greeting patients, families, visitors arriving at the hospital by operating a work space to control access of individuals that present to our facility. In collaboration with the patient care team, the Concierge screens individuals to ensure the patient and staff environment is free of potential exposure to respiratory illnesses and infectious diseases. The Patient Safety Screener Concierge works with the Volunteers to have the patients and family members escorted to the appropriate area, directing patients, traffic and performing other duties as needed. The Concierge works collaboratively with other departments, including patient access, to ensure that the patient's needs are met. This position requires excellent customer service skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES (The essential responsibilities and accountabilities of this position including interactions with other departments and outside vendors, if applicable, in PRIORITY order.)

Primary Duties

* Greets visitors and oversees visitor's sign-in and sign-out processing -- (notifies the appropriate parties of their arrival and provides a visitor or vendor badge as needed).

* Ensures a safe patient and staff environment by screening all entrants according to established guidelines. Utilizes approved screening methods as appropriate to the situation, including verbal screening and, when requested, temperature assessment.

* Provides resource information as needed.

* Provides resource information as needed (food, lodging, stores, etc.)

* Works collaboratively with other departments to ensure that the patient and the patients' families' needs are met.

* Knows Code colors and assists per disaster policies.

* Oversees Lobby - contacts necessary resources for all event occurrences.

* Oversees distribution of newspapers, mail, deliveries to patient

* Accepts deliveries and/or directs delivery personnel to the proper location.

* Other duties as assigned.

What qualifications you will need:

High School Diploma/GED
