PATIENT SERVICES COORDINATOR(Washington, DC)Contract (with potential for extension)Our client is seeking a motivated medical administrative professional in a physician's practice, assisting with scanning, filing, and updating information into the internal EMR system.Qualifications:1+ years of experience in healthcare, understanding terminology and insurance verificationExperience with registering or scheduling patientsEMR KnowledgePassion for healthcareMinimum High School degree or equivalentStrong Customer Service and patient experienceJob Overview:This role is back-office administration. NOT patient-facing.Coordinates the patient registration process, including staff adherence to all established policies and procedures related to querying the Enterprise Access Directory (EAD) and obtaining complete demographic and insurance information for each patient appointment.Assists with coordinating personnel activities, including interviews, orientation and training, scheduling, work sampling, quality assurance, and performance management.Registers patients using the approved organization's electronic scheduling and billing system.Follows guidelines to avoid duplicate medical record assignments. Obtains and/or verifies complete demographic and insurance information from the patient.Accurately enters complete demographics, insurance information, and Financial Status Classification (FSC) / Hospital Patient Accounting Plan Code assignment.Coordinates the patient appointment scheduling process, including staff adherence to all established policies and procedures related to determining and accurately documenting the appropriate appointment type, provider, referral and/or authorization requirements, procedure orders, and other appointment-specific requirements.Performs or ensures the performance of daily scheduling edits as necessitated by provider schedule changes.Work Environment:Fast-paced environment; administrative/back office filing8:00 AM - 4:30 PM; Monday through FridayIf you meet the above qualifications, please apply.About TEKsystems:We're partners in transformation.
