MEDICATION MANAGEMENT
PATIENT SERVICES COORDINATOR III (Hybrid position)
Novant Health is seeking a Patient Services Coordinator III to join our ambulatory pharmacy team to deliver optimal medication management across all dimensionsof care, every time.
Preferred Experience/Credentials
- One (1+) year of scheduling experience in a healthcare environment
- Understanding of medical terminology
- Customer service oriented
- Experience using telephone headset and computerized appointment scheduling program to schedule patient appointments
- Experience in a professional environment with direct patient contact preferred
- Experience with EPIC electronic medical record preferred
- Highly motivated individual who is self-directed and able to execute tasks in a quickly changing environment
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize essential tasks and meet deadlines
- Maintains patient confidentiality; complies with HIPAA and compliance guidelines established by Novant Health
Remote opportunity within our approved hiring footprint. Will need to come on-site as needed.
Essential functions include:
- Patient scheduling and telephone triage: Receives incoming patient telephone calls to schedule, reschedule, and cancel appointments.
- Respond to patient appointment requests as quickly as possible and schedule all appointments in accordance with practice guidelines.
- Prepares weekly clinician schedules. Reviews clinician schedules daily or more frequently as needed to determine capacity opportunities and ensure productivity standards are being met.
- Works collaboratively with clinicians to ensure all patient visits are scheduled and completed as ordered and within the care center.
- Call to confirm scheduled appointments, pull patient files, and provide accurate route sheets, to maintain patient flow throughout the day
- Partnership with NHMG providers and clinical staff to provide remarkable patient care.
- Contributes to process improvement projects.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing while having a collaborative approach to patient care.
- Demonstrating proficiency with equipment and software.

- Education: High School Diploma or GED, required.
- Experience: One year of clerical experience in medical office setting, required. Other related experience may be considered in lieu of medical office experience.
- Additional Skills (required): Knowledge of medical office software for the following: updating patient demographic information, posting charges, copays, and scheduling patient appointments. Requires excellent verbal communication skills. Must be able to work with changing priorities. Requires excellent organizational, problem solving and critical thinking skills. Must be able to interact with individuals of all cultures and levels of authority. Requires the ability to maintain confidentiality. Must be able to function as part of a team. Must possess initiative. Basic medical terminology required, knowledge can be obtained through formal classes or work experience. High level of working knowledge of EPIC systems. Detailed knowledge of multiple payors billing requirements. Familiarity of coding requirements for practice specialty.
- Additional Skills (preferred): Proficient in use of all computer software utilized in practice.
