Job Description The Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority (OMMA) is seeking a full-time Director of Patient Services. This is a state position governed by the Civil Service Rules, in state government located in Oklahoma City, OK. Basic Purpose The Director of Patient Services oversees licensing of Medical Marijuana patients and looks for opportunities for improvement in this area. This position also is responsible for providing general oversight of OMMAs patient oriented public health and safety initiatives, utilizing data and information to guide those initiatives. The Director of Patient Services helps assure OMMA is current regarding patient health and safety body of knowledge related to Medical Marijuana use. Typical Functions Directs oversight of patient licensing outreach efforts, providing support and guidance to patient programs across the state of Oklahoma. Develops and implements customer service initiatives aimed at improving the experience for patients engaging with the OMMA. Collaborates with the OMMA Communications Department to address patient licensing inquiries and concerns creating efficiencies in patient access to standardized and accessible information. Oversees the collection of public health data to inform policy decisions related to medical marijuana in Oklahoma. Actively engages with patients, medical professionals, and public health communities to gather input on relevant public health issues. Analyzes health outcomes and develops outcome measures to assess the effectiveness of implemented public health programs. Facilitate collaboration between OMMA internal teams and external stakeholders to advance patient-centered public health and safety campaigns. Leads initiatives focused on educating and engaging healthcare providers regarding medical marijuana health and safety topics. Collaborates with subject matter experts to ensure healthcare providers are informed about the latest public health and safety concerns regarding medical marijuana. Establishes and maintains OMMA as a trusted resource for patients and medical providers on matters related to medical marijuana health and safety. Education and Experience Education and Experience requirements at this level consists of a bachelors degree and five years of professional business or public administration experience, including two years in a supervisory or administrative capacity; or an equivalent combination of education and experience, substituting one year of professional or technical administrative experience in business or public administration for each year of the required education. Note: No substitution will be allowed for the required professional experience in a supervisory or administrative capacity. Special Requirements and Preferred Qualifications Registered Nurse with a bachelors degree or higher, with a current Oklahoma Nursing License. At least 5 years of experience as a Public Health Nurse. Experience working in regulatory programs, rules pertaining to state laws and mandates, administrative principles and practices, including data analysis, ad hoc research, program management and business administration. Proven skills in performance evaluation, reporting, public speaking, decision making, attention to detail, teamwork, and planning. Preference may be given to candidates with Certification in Public Health. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies Knowledge, Skills and Abilities required at this level include knowledge of agency policies and procedures; of all state and federal legislation related to assigned agency programs; of the principles, methods and practices of various programs being administered; and of the organization, development and administration of the programs for which responsibility is assigned. Ability is required to evaluate program performance; plan, coordinate and evaluate the activities of divisions and multiple work units engaged in a broad range of functions; to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; to interpret, analyze and resolve highly complex administrative and personnel problems; to interpret and apply policy material; and to maintain effective working relationships with others. Physical Demands and Work Environment Work is typically performed in an office setting with a climate-controlled settings and exposure to moderate noise level. While performing the duties of the job, employee is required to talk, stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. This position requires long period of sitting and daily use of computer and phone.
