This position is 20 hours per week, with typical hours between Monday-Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. may occasionally be needed at 7:30 a.m. No Holidays! No Weekends! - Greets and checks in patients.
- Assists patients in filling out patient forms.
- Answers phones, takes messages, routes calls when necessary.
- Develops patient charts.
- Enters pertinent information into patient charts.
- Schedules patient appointments and testing.
- Collects co-payments from patients.
- Performs general office duties.
- Respects and maintains confidentiality.
- Works in a safe, HIPAA compliant and ethical manner at all times.
- Other duties as assigned.
The Requirements:
- A minimum of a high school education or equivalent.
- Post high school coursework in Medical Terminology and/or Office Assistant is appropriate.
- Must have a working knowledge of medical terms and health insurance.
- Must possess strong desktop computer skills.
- Experience with EPIC is preferred.
- Prior experience in a medical setting is preferred.
