#CA-DKThe UCDH Department of Radiology provides diagnostic radiological services to adult and pediatric inpatients and outpatients. Under the direction of the Ambulatory Care Supervisor(s), and the Manager, the MOSC II Per Diem provides patient care coordination to Radiology modalities.As the support member in Radiology, the incumbent is responsible for sustaining an environment of intrinsic goodwill in which to provide his/her assigned patient population with all essential non-medical assistance in areas of appointment scheduling, registration, ancillary visits, patient population, and insurance administration. Incumbents are expected to adhere to the established protocols of the Department of Radiology, practice standards, and principles of managed care.This person interacts directly with Radiologists, clinicians, community physicians, and other University personnel. Incumbent works independently, and work is referred to his/her supervisor when standard procedures or processes do not apply.Apply By : December 23 2024 at 11:59pm. - Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy sufficient to schedule patient exams, read patient diagnostic physicians, log patient diagnosis and research film inquiries.
- Complete working knowledge of Radiology practices and protocols related to appointments, medical records, and other business and office procedures.
- Complete working knowledge of Health Care Insurance programs such as Medi-Cal, Medicare, HMO, PPO, fee for service, and worker's compensation, sufficient to obtain and track authorizations, appoint patients, make referrals for consults, diagnostics, ancillary services, coordinate hospital admissions, complete and submit billing documentation and explain provisions and requirements to patients.

Required to accurately enter and retrieve patient data from the Hospital Information System (IS) and EPIC to include but not limited to, patient demographic and exam information, verification, status, change and amendment.
- Ability to effectively use computer system to create templates, enters pertinent patient information, and schedule appointments.
