As a full-time Patient Services Representative, you'll play a vital role in our office in Maquoketa, being the first point of contact for patients seeking our life-changing services. Your warm demeanor and exceptional customer service skills will be instrumental in providing a welcoming environment to those in need. Key Responsibilities:
- Perform the patient check-in process with precision, accurately updating patient demographic information in our electronic health record (EHR) and collecting financial and insurance details.
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting patients and notifying appropriate staff of their arrival, creating a welcoming and caring environment.
- Manage office opening and closing duties, ensuring tidiness in waiting areas, reception, copy/supply rooms, and staff areas throughout the day.
- Direct incoming calls to the right departments or staff members and ensure accurate and timely information exchange with the clinical department. Schedule and confirm patient appointments.
- Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, and program eligibility (Sliding Fee scale) to facilitate accurate and timely remittance. Inform patients of their financial responsibilities accordingly. Collect patient payments in a professional and courteous manner.
- Manage patient correspondence via phone, fax, mail, letter, email, and text, ensuring seamless communication. Assist in maintaining the patient closed file record system.
- Reconcile cash drawer to ensure accuracy and complete deposits following agency guidelines.
- Assist the Revenue Cycle Manager in generating claims and support the Data Coordinator in conducting data checking procedures.
RequirementsQualified candidates will have a high school diploma/GED and showcase strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office programs. Effective communication and previous experience with a multi-line phone system will be invaluable in this role. Candidates must also be able to successfully complete an extensive background check process.Compensation and BenefitsAs a Patient Services Representative, you will start with a competitive hourly rate of $18.90.
