Job Description:
**UPMC Western Behavioral Health at Mon Yough is hiring a full-time Patient Services Representative to support the Mental Health Case Management team.**The Patient Services Representative welcomes patients, promotes new technologies, educates on copayments and financial obligations, collects payments, schedules follow-up appointments, connects patients to financial advocacy resources, updates demographics and insurance information, and fosters a culture of service excellence. They ensure a positive UPMC Experience through strong customer service skills at UPMC physician practices, hospitals, and outpatient surgery departments.The shift for this position is Monday-Friday daylight hours. Affordable parking available nearby. The incumbent will be joining a supportive team.**Responsibilities:**+ Greet patients warmly and assist with check-in.+ Collect copayments and update patient information.+ Schedule follow-up and ancillary service appointments.+ Provide clear instructions and follow-up on patient needs.+ Handle service recovery actions.+ Register patients in the Biometrics program and promote MyUPMC portal.+ Educate patients on financial responsibilities and connect to advocacy resources.+ Verify insurance benefits and obtain necessary signatures.+ Triage phone calls and assist with administrative tasks.+ Perform duties in line with system-wide competencies and behaviors.+ Undertake additional assigned duties.+ Completion of high school graduate or equivalent is required.+ Experience with personal computer-based applications, other various office equipment and proficient typing skills are preferred.+ Two years of experience in a medical / billing / fiscal or customer service function is preferred.+ Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.+ Prior experience with Medipac, Epic, or other health records systems is preferred. **Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:**+ Comprehensive Crisis Management (CCMC)+ Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal+ Act 33 with renewal+ Act 34 with renewal+ Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal**UPMC is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Disability/Veteran**
