Job Summary:Under immediate supervision, the Patient Service Representative is responsible for registering, admitting, and scheduling appointments for patients while ensuring a smooth and efficient patient experience. This position requires a high level of customer service and attention to detail to maintain accuracy in patient information and hospital procedures.Essential Responsibilities:
- Interview patients and responsible parties to collect personal, demographic, and financial information required for registration.
- Serve as the initial point of contact for the hospital systems intake.
- Schedule appointments following established hospital procedures and guidelines.
- Direct the flow of patients and visitors using the hospital information system.
- Provide general information regarding hospital access, operating procedures, and answer inquiries from patients and visitors.
- Review and verify the accuracy of patient registrations, admissions, and appointments.
- Receive and process physician's orders to admit, register, or schedule patients.
- Collect payments for hospital services and issue receipts accordingly.
- Maintain various reports and logs as required.
- Perform other administrative duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Experience: At least 1 year of experience as a Patient Service Representative or in a similar role.
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- License/Certification: Proof of COVID-19 vaccination required.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate records.
- Familiarity with hospital systems and patient registration processes.
- Ability to handle patient inquiries and direct them appropriately.
