Job Description:

We have a PRN (as needed), front desk/medical receptionist float position open. This position would require travel to our Troy Big Beaver, Downtown Royal Oak, and Woodward Corners locations. Scheduling is tentative 8am - 8pm, 1-2 shifts/week for PRN on a floating schedule. Rotating weekends and holidays are required. Schedules published on a monthly basis.Job descriptionThe Patient Service Representative is the first point of contact between the patient and clinical staff. Patient check in, insurance verification, collection of co-pays and balances, various other front office duties. The front office position plays a vital role of ensuring & exceeding the expectations of the patient with the Beaumont Urgent Care experience.Responsibilities:Greet patients and provide instructions to all visitors in a polite and professional mannerAnalyze health insurance benefits, verify insurance eligibility and relay relevant information regarding payment policies and billing/collection processesMaintain the readiness of the Beaumont Urgent Care reception areaPerform clerical tasks and adhere to established policies and proceduresDetermine and collect each patient's financial responsibilityAssist the practice manager and other staff as requiredProvide overall support for Physicians and office operationsObtain and document patient historyUnderstand and enforce standard healthcare regulatory requirementsCollect and maintain all patient and business documents while maintaining confidentialityPerform office procedures including all general administrative dutiesDocument Electronic Medical Record (EMR) all medical interventionsAssure HIPAA and OSHA complianceMay be asked to travel to nearby Beaumont Urgent Care locations to support the staffMinimum Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent.Prefer at least one year experience in a medical office or emergency room setting.Urgent care experience preferred, but not required.Ability to work 8am to 8pm 3 days/week, rotating weekends and holidays.Experience with insurance eligibility and co-pay determination preferred but not required.
