Schedule: Tuesday and every other weekend, 7a.m. to 3:30 p.m.Job SummaryTransports all patient populations to and from examinations and treatments. Performs general errands and other routine duties including cleaning equipment, securing supplies, and other tasks as required. Acts as a team member in the delivery of quality patient care. Adheres to unit procedures wherever transport services rendered.Essential Functions* Prepares patient for transport and performs passive and active identification to ensure all patients are properly identified before transporting.* Transports all patients and equipment to and from testing and procedure areas including inpatient, outpatient, emergency and high risk Intensive Care Unit (ICU).* Effectively communicates with medical employees to ensure all required medical supplies and medications are appropriately transported with the patient including the administering of oxygen when required.* Responsible for the timely discharge of patients throughout the hospital.* Under the direction of medical employees and/or Registered Nurse (RN), assists in providing support in toileting ambulatory patients.* Cleans and disinfects equipment according to established policies and procedures. Maintains clean work areas and returns equipment to appropriate department. Communicates malfunctioning equipment/instruments to appropriate department/unit staff.QualificationsRequired* High School Diploma or equivalent* CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association within 90 days after hire Or* CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross within 90 days of hireAbout Corewell HealthAs a team member at Corewell Health, you will play an essential role in delivering personalized health care to our patients, members and our communities.
