Job Description:

The C. W. Williams Community Health Center, Inc., seeks a Patient Transportation Driver to join our team.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

* Responsible for the safe transportation of patients to and from scheduled medical appointments.

* Operate Mobile Medical and Mobile Dental RV vehicles.

* Generate daily patient transportation schedules and confirm with patients, schedulers/practice manager one week prior.

* Complete pre-trip inspections to ensure the bus is in proper working condition.

* Fill out vehicle inspection form daily (submit weekly).

* Report any van malfunctions or needed repairs to the transportation manager.

* Prepare and submit daily trip logs that includes passenger information, trip purpose, mileage, etc.;

* Notify scheduler if any rider does not show;

* Submit fuel receipts daily;

* Be able to read maps, and follow written and verbal geographic directions;

* Be able to utilize route mapping app.

* Comply with all traffic regulations;

* Report delays, accidents, or other traffic and transportation situations to the proper personnel or scheduler;

* Pick up and drop off passengers at scheduled locations, following time schedules;

* Serve as liaison between passengers and patient appointment schedulers;

* Provide assistance to passengers, including but not limited to assistance with boarding and deboarding, small packages, fastening/unfastening seat belts, etc.;

* Regulate heating, lighting, and ventilation systems for passenger comfort;

* Keep the vehicle(s) clean, inside and outside;

* Maintain confidentially of sensitive or patient information;

* Maintain contact with appointment schedulers to confirm any anticipated late arrival times;

* Maintain order among passengers during trips;

* Establish good rapport with passengers;

* Complete all job functions in a safe, professional, and courteous manner;

* Request PTO at least 2 weeks in advance, with the exception of emergency situations;

* Participate in community outreach events as requested, which may include evenings & weekends;

* Must pass a drug test prior to employment and be willing to take a random drug test at all times;

* Be neat and presentable to the public;

* Have an excellent driving record;

* Perform other related duties as needed or assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Education:

* High school diploma or equivalent

* Valid CDL Driver License

* BLS certification

* Complete Defensive Driving Course

Experience:

* 1-3 years' experience in operating passenger van, preferably in a healthcare environment, or an acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skills:

* Must possess a valid North Carolina CDL driver's license with a clean driving record.

* Must meet the requirements as specified in the organizations insurance policy.

* Must have no DUI convictions.

* Must speak fluent Spanish.

* Excellent organizational and interpersonal communication skills.

* Ability to work well under pressure, establish priorities, and adapt to change.

* Ability to work with patients of all ages.

* Have a self-motivated, creative, and positive personality.

* Ability to work with patients, staff, family members, and the community.

* Possess patience, assertiveness, and be a conscientious person.

* Driving in/exposure to hazardous weather conditions.

* Required travel to different facilities.

* Have good balance as required to maintain physical equilibrium to prevent falling of self, others, or of objects being carried.

* Able to stand and sit for extended periods of time.

* Able to walk and use stairs.

* Able to reach, stoop, kneel, push/pull, lift, and crouch. Have fine motor ability, adequate for manipulating small objects successfully.

* Able to feel, hear, see, smell, and speak.

* Will be exposed to inside and outside environmental conditions.

* Ability to perform essential function of the jobs with or without reasonable accommodations.

* Manual dexterity in order to operate relevant equipment.

* Ability to lift up 50+ pounds using appropriate techniques.
