Job Description:
DescriptionThe Patient Transportation Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient transportation of all incoming patients to various substance treatment facilities. This position involves close collaboration with the Intake team to facilitate timely transportation services, manage scheduling, and provide up-to-date information on patient movements.TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Work closely with the Intake team to ensure transportation services are executed promptly and efficiently for all incoming patients.
  • Manage and regularly update the transportation scheduling list to reflect accurate and current information.
  • Organize transportation for patients, including scheduling pickups and coordinating their arrival to our facilities, while adhering to their estimated times of pick-up and arrival.
  • Maintain accurate records of patients enroute to the facilities and provide timely ETA updates to the necessary locations.
  • Communicate effectively with the team about the status of patients awaiting transportation, including those who have canceled or rescheduled their pickups.
  • Proactively follow up on reservations for the next day to ensure all transportation needs for our facilities are met.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with transportation service providers to ensure high-quality and reliable transportation options for patients.
  • Implement and oversee a feedback system for patients and staff to continually improve the transportation service quality.
  • Coordinate with healthcare professionals to ensure patients' medical and safety needs are met during transportation.
  • Analyze transportation data to identify trends, improve scheduling efficiency, and reduce costs.
  • All other duties as assigned.
RequirementsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, healthcare administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Knowledge of the substance treatment industry and sensitivity to the needs of individuals with substance use disorders.
  • Ability to use transportation management software and other related IT systems.
SKILLS:
  • Strong organizational and coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication abilities to effectively update team members and coordinate with patients.
  • Proficiency in maintaining and managing detailed records.
  • A commitment to providing empathetic and efficient support to patients in need of substance treatment services.
