Scheduling RequirementsEvening Shift 2:30PM 11PMEvery other weekends and holidays 1PM-9:30PMDays to work variesFull TimeEssential Functions:Accepts jobs in a timely manner,Places self in progress within 5 minutes of receiving job assignmentUses judgment in extending 5 minute grace period in waiting for patientsNotifies dispatcher of delaysNotifies system of job complete statusContacts dispatcher within 3 - 5 minutes if no job is receivedAdvises nurse, nurse designee or technician when arrives to units and testing areaIntroduces self to patientTransporter always checks the patient's ID band for the two identifiers before transporting patient Name and Date of BirthAssists the nurse or technician in transferring the patient from the bed to the transport equipment or vice versaUses caution when rounding cornersEnsures brakes are used when transferring from stretcher and/or wheelchairMaintains confidentiality of patient informationIdentifies appropriate situations to seek assistance from nursing staff and/or securityRecognizes and reports patient discomfort, distress or emergency situations to the nurse or technicianAlways follow infection control and hand washing precaution before, during and after a transportRWJBarnabas Health is an Equal Opportunity Employer
