OverviewTransports patients to and from clinical, ancillary and support areas via wheelchair or stretcherUnder the general direction of the Radiologists, Chief Technologist and Staff Technologist the Radiology Assistant provides healthcare customer services, performs assistance during radiographic procedures; helps with communication, transportation and equipment maintenance and exercised professional judgment in performance of services maintaining a demeanor complimentary to medical ethics.Responsibilities
- Communicates and distributes information to Imaging Services team members correctly and accurately.
- Complies with NARMC HIPAA Privacy and Security policies.
- Understands responsibility to report issues with privacy, fraud and abuse, compliance and ethical conduct.
- Demonstrates working knowledge of medical terminology.
- Fulfills work assignments in a timely manner.
- Makes efficient use of resources without waste.
- Effectively communicates with working personnel.
- Transports patients to and from the Imaging Services Department.
- Helps maintain equipment assisting and cleaning the department.
- Has knowledge of hospital policies and the function of other departments.
- Correctly states hospital restraint policy.
- Assumes responsibility for assigned area and reports equipment malfunction immediately.
- Assists physicians and/or technologist(s) in the performing of examinations (holding and turning patients and other related duties as required)
- Successfully completes annual orientations.
- Demonstrates effect time management by completing commitments within the standard time frames and schedules.
- When assisting technologist identifies each patient beforehand.
- Demonstrates capability to assist in radiographic procedures under the direction of a technologist.
- Checks and maintains on a daily basis all linen hampers.
- Works together as a whole to get the job done.

Qualifications
Education:
High School diploma or GED required
Experience:
Previous working experience in secretarial, clerking ,or receptionist areas is considered desirable and a plus
Degrees, Licensure, and/or Certification:
BLS required
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
General knowledge of secretarial function
Specific Medical, Clerical, Receptionist Computer knowledge is considered desirable and a plus.
Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
