PATROL OFFICER

DEPARTMENT: Sheriff's Office

2024 HIRING RANGE: $26.46/hr, $27.78/hour upon completion of training, $27.92 - $39.96/hour based on education and position related experience

2025 HIRING RANGE: $32.12/hr, $33.40/hour upon completion of training, $33.57 - $48.03/hour based on education and position related experience

JOB SUMMARY:

This position must be knowledgeable of laws and procedures to properly perform assignments of patrol officer and to provide the public with limited technical and legal information; patrol the county to maintain civil peace for the safety of life and property; investigate complaints and accidents and enforce county ordinances, state, and federal laws.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

* HS Diploma or GED - Associated degree or 60 credit hours of continuing education preferred

* Valid driver's license

* Complete training in basic law enforcement courses

* Completion of ILEA as required by law

* Maintain annual in-service training requirements

* Must be at least 21 years of age and a US Citizen

* Pre-employment background check and polygraph
