Job Description:

The Patron & Young Associate Gift Officer is responsible for managing the unassigned Patron renewal schedule and the cultivation and customer service needs of those Patrons. This employee will build a portfolio of Patrons and prospects to solicit for the Patron program. The ideal candidate is an individual who can cultivate relationships, solicit gifts, and offer personalized customer service with the goal of retaining and upgrading Patrons. We are looking for someone who will think strategically based on giving trends and ticket purchasing behavior to drive up Patron acquisition and renewal rates. Primary Responsibilities

    • Manage Patron renewal schedule for solicitation of unassigned Patrons
    • Identify, cultivate, solicit, and manage a pool of prospects whose giving trends and ticket purchasing behavior indicate that they could become Patrons.
    • Entertain prospects and current Patrons throughout the season,
    • Host during Patron and Young Associate events
    • Provide personalized Patron ticket service to all Patrons. Participate in the development of strategies to engage donors and prospects to encourage increasedinvolvementand secureincreasedgifts.
    • Assist Patrons - in person, via telephone, mail, and email - by addressing concerns andproviding customer service, both overall and more specifically with subscriptionreassignments
Skills and Qualifications
    • B.A. degree (required)
    • 3 years of experience in fundraising with an emphasis on individual solicitation.
    • Experience in providing excellent customer service in a professional environment.
    • Ability to write clearly and elegantly with an expert grasp of language, grammar, and punctuation.
    • Excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills.
    • Excellent computer program/database skills. Familiarity with Tessitura preferred.
    • Ability to exercise excellent judgment working with customers, donors, volunteers and Board members.
    • Familiarity with the performing arts, particularly opera, a plus.
    • Experience in a fast-paced office environment.

    • Energetic team player who works well with all personality types.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks.
    • This position is Full-Time in the Patron Office
    • Evening and weekend work required.
