We are seeking a skilled Patternmaker to join our team on a part-time basis to assist in the development of Juniors' sizes.
Job Overview:
As a Patternmaker at Star Children's Dress Company, you will be responsible for creating precise patterns for our Juniors' dress line. You will work closely with our design team to translate sketches and design concepts into high-quality, production-ready patterns. The ideal candidate will have experience in patternmaking for Juniors' sizes and a strong understanding of garment construction and fit.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop accurate patterns for Juniors' size dresses based on design specifications and sketches.
- Collaborate with designers to ensure that patterns align with the intended vision and garment fit.
- Adjust and refine patterns based on sample fittings and feedback.
- Ensure patterns are compatible with production standards and fabric capabilities.
- Maintain consistency in sizing and grading across different styles.
- Work with the production team to troubleshoot any pattern-related issues during the manufacturing process.
- Stay updated on fashion trends and sizing standards within the Juniors' market.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in patternmaking, preferably in Juniors' apparel.
- Skills: Manual pattern drafting.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of garment construction, fabric behavior, and sizing/grading techniques.
- Detail-Oriented: High attention to detail and precision in creating patterns and making adjustments.
- Creativity: Ability to interpret design sketches into patterns that are functional and fashionable.
- Communication: Strong collaborative skills to work effectively with the design and production teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in children's and Juniors' fashion.
- Knowledge of trends in the Juniors' dress market.
- Familiarity with grading and adapting patterns for multiple sizes.
Hours and Compensation:
- Part-time position with flexible hours.
- $35 per hour.
