Work for a Central New Jersey firm that delivers quality construction services to public, commercial, and private clients in NJ, PA, and NY, offering services in Sitework, Paving, Environmental, Utilities, and more. Paving Superintendent:The purpose of the Paving Superintendent is to directly oversee and manage the paving foreman, milling and grading crews, providing the necessary leadership to plan, organize and direct paving projects to meet completion requirements and profitability objectives, all while maintaining and building good customer relationships.Responsibilities:- Accountable for quality of finished product and completion of daily production goals as determined by the Paving Manager.- Consider safety planning foremost in the daily operations by creating a culture of safety for the project and holding each individual on the project accountable for safe behavior. - Ensure appropriate safety gear/equipment is worn on site at all times. - Attend all safety meetings and make sure that OSHA standards and the company's safety policies are being enforced.- Continually develop and use leadership skills. Support and provide mentorship to paving foremen and crew.- Schedule and coordinate work with the Paving Manager and Site Superintendents. - Properly plan for and maintain the appropriate amount of labor to streamline project completion in the most efficient manner possible. - Identify productivity issues and take action to resolve them before the project is negatively impacted.- Willingness to act as a foreman on occasion if necessary, overseeing an additional paving crew.- Coordinate equipment requirements and mobilization.- Calculate accurate trucking requirements based on distance to the asphalt plant and needed quantities.- Coordinate traffic control, if and when required.- Ensure water source, if available, and or the need for a water truck.- Coordinate project inspection with the proper authority.- Verify the need for tac coat and coordinate with a subcontractor if required.- Manually measure each project to verify the quantity of asphalt required, keeping ahead of the paving foremen and crew.- Determine the hourly and daily production based on configuration of the work for the day.- Obtain utility risers, if required.- Coordinate a line striping contractor, if required.- Coordinate density technician, if required.Job RequirementsKnowledge & Skills:- Minimum of 7 years of experience in construction of asphalt pavements.- Basic knowledge of PC software and systems such as Microsoft Office.- Possess strong organizational, management, oral and written communication skills.Certifications:- Valid Driver's license within the United States clear of multiple and or major violations.- OSHA 30 hour.- CPR/AED and Basic First Aid.Rachel BurkeSynerfac Staffing...@synerfac.com732-###-####
