Job Description:
Payment Processing Supervisor is responsible for forecasting, organizing and directing the work of Payment Processing Clerks. The Payment Processing Supervisor must ensure that all payment, refund, and adjustment services are completed in a timely manner while complying with established guidelines and procedures. Reviews refund request forms and supporting documentation to substantiate overpayment calculations. Coordinates with other departments and clients' customers. Duties & Responsibilities Reconciles approved refunds in client's proprietary system and resolves any discrepancies. Prepares task assignments, generates workflow deadlines, delivers objectives, and monitors employees time management. Completes Annual Performance Reviews and disciplinary actions as needed, both written and verbal in conjunction with the Assistant Manager. Prepares daily credit card chargebacks processing. Supervises clerks' key performance indicator/metrics established for each function within the section. Oversees proper training for staff and creates, reviews, or modifies procedures to ensure compliance and accuracy. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities •Knowledge of payment processing, cash controls and reconciliation •Knowledge of Payment Reject, Lockbox, Unidentified, NSF, Refund, Credit Card, Chargebacks Process •Knowledge of settlements and large payments •Knowledge of good Supervisory techniques and practices •Skilled in mathematical calculations and business arithmetic •Excellent PC operating skills (keyboard, mouse) with working knowledge of MS Office to include Word and Excel •Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects simultaneously •Ability to exercise good judgment, making decisions with minimal supervision •Ability to work independently •Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing •Ability to handle confidential materials •Ability to exercise considerable personal tact and initiative •Ability to supervise the work of a large group of payment processors and clerks and to instruct them in their duties Physical Demands This position requires a substantial amount of walking, some standing, sitting in an office environment, and light lifting such as three or four reams of paper or books (up to 20 pounds or an equivalent weight) may be required. Required Education / Experience High school diploma or equivalent Additional education preferred, but not required Two (2) years of supervisory experience or combination of education and work experience.
