Processes part-time payroll and serves as back-up for all Accountant II duties. Administers various employee benefit programs. Prepares and submits monthly reports to system offices.
Duties
1. Assists with processing College part-time payroll. Verifies part-time timesheets and payroll requests. Enters part-time payroll into Colleague. Analyzes and balances payroll with the Payroll Accountant II.
2. Assists with full-time payroll as needed and serves as back-up for Payroll Accountant II.
3. Enters Adjunct Agreements for Fall, Spring and Summer semesters into Colleague.
4. Maintains self-funded dental account tracking.
5. Reviews monthly Benefit Focus Files for the State Health Plan.
6. Enters payroll benefit deductions into Colleague. Performs seasonal data entry. Enters bonuses and retro raise amounts into Colleague.
7. Maintains payroll records.
8. Contributes to the College Vision, Mission, Values, and RISE statement.
9. Supports workforce diversity in all its aspects.
10. Performs other tasks as assigned.
Minimum Requirements (Applicant must meet all of the minimum requirements)
1. Associate's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance or a degree in a related field, or Bachelor's degree with a Certificate in Accounting.
2. One year of full-time or equivalent payroll, accounting, or data management work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Experience working at a NC community college.
2. Experience with the Ellucian Colleague.
3. Proficiency in a foreign language such as Spanish, an East Slavic language, and/or American Sign Language.
