Position Payroll Administrator DescriptionPrimary Objectives: Prepare and process accurate weekly payroll for 250 employees. Review and ensure accurate, timely payroll entries, track and deduct all liens, garnishments, and other special payroll deductions and earnings. The Payroll Administrator reports to the Human Resources Manager. Responsibilities: •Responsible for the day-to-day payroll preparation, auditing, and processing of payroll to ensure timely, compliant, and accurate payroll in accordance with local, State, and Federal Labor Law guidelines and regulations. •Input and/or upload and verify all payroll entries including hours, deductions, earnings, garnishments, new hires, terminations, taxes, adjustments, and manual checks in the payroll system. •Review, ensure accuracy, and reconcile electronic timekeeping data and initiate manual adjustments and corrections as necessary. •Responsible for creating, reviewing, and analyzing pre-transmission and post-transmission payroll audit reports, including 401(k) contributions. •Run, post journal entries, and maintain General Ledger files weekly and monthly. •Reconcile all General Ledger accounts impacted by the payroll journal entry including bank reconciliations and Form 941. •Compile, input, and reconcile any additional data to be included in the final payroll prior to processing of W-2s, and process W-2 corrections, as appropriate. •Pay Union dues, medical, and retirement. •Provide exceptional customer service in a high-volume environment answering questions relating to salary, paystubs, and other payroll information. •Process employment verifications and C240s. •Establish and maintain annual payroll processing schedules and tasks. •Manage workflow to ensure all payroll inquiry cases are completed accurately and timely follow up is provided to employee. •Calculate and report vacation accruals and usage. •Support internal and external audit compliance. •Quarterly and year end reporting. •Year end 1095-C health insurance reporting. •Collaborate with leadership team to stay updated on payroll knowledge and stay informed of any changes in policies and procedures. •Assist and support Human Resources function as needed. Position RequirementsRequirements •An associate degree or higher in human resources, business administration, accounting, or finance. •A minimum of 2 years' recent payroll/timekeeping experience. •Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) a plus. •Experience with payroll accounting software required. Experience with Paychex Flex a plus. •Microsoft Excel Required, intermediate level. •Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion. •Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure. •General understanding of required compliance with legal, regulatory, and financial requirements governing functional tasks and activities. •Demonstrated ability to manage multiple functions simultaneously. •Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
