Location: Halifax, hybrid working 2 days per week in the office.

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

About the role

Overall responsibility for processing payroll and ensuring that all team members are paid correctly and on time.

Key responsibilities

  • Processing end to end monthly for multiple PAYE payrolls (700 team members), ensuring that all team members are paid correctly and on time.

  • Reviewing and adding payroll data into the system.

  • Processing starters, leavers, pay changes, statutory payments and benefits.

  • Action calculations where necessary for more complex situations including statutory payments, holidays and pay adjustments.

  • Processing and submitting relevant HMRC forms.

  • Managing and administering pension schemes.

  • Providing a range of payroll reports as and when required.

  • Maintaining up to date guidance notes on payroll processes.

  • Resolving queries from team members and people managers.

  • Providing support across the People Operations team as required.

Skills and experience

  • Experienced in payroll administration.

  • Experience of using and maintaining payroll systems; Cascade experience advantageous but not essential.

  • Sound knowledge of payroll processes and legislation.

  • Must demonstrate an unquestionable level of discretion, integrity and confidentiality.

  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.

  • First class communication skills and the ability to liaise with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.

  • Meticulous attention to detail

  • Thrives in a fast paced and rapidly changing environment.

  • Data gathering, analysis and reporting skills.

  • Strong excel skills include v-lookups and pivot tables
