Our client manages the water supply and supports community development. As the company continues to grow, they are looking for a Payroll Administrator to manage payroll and reporting activities in compliance with regulations and company policies. This role involves processing payroll, solving payroll-related problems, and acting as a liaison between HR/Payroll systems and technical staff. This is a hybrid position in Austin, TX.
What YOU get to DO at this innovative company:
- Process bi-weekly and off-cycle payrolls, correct out-of-balance conditions, and ensure accurate computation of pay within company policies and government regulations. Update employee payroll records, including tax, deductions, payments, insurance, and direct deposits.
- Work closely with payroll staff to identify and implement system revisions, inspect automated system output, prepare general ledger entries, and create standard and ad hoc reports. Ensure accurate reporting to governmental agencies and review federal and state reports.
- Provide support for payroll strategy, planning, and communication.
- Coordinate with HR on pay adjustments, maintain employee information, process terminations, prepare vendor invoices, reconcile payroll-related accounts, and ensure compliance with regulations.
What you NEED to SUCCEED in this challenging role:
- 5+ years of experience in payroll is required
- Proficiency in Excel is required
- Degree(s) in accounting or a relevant is preferred
- Experience with PeopleSoft is preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
