This position will be responsible for managing the payroll process and administering the benefit plans for all employees, including reporting and tax requirements. The ideal candidate is knowledgeable, precise, and analytical with a strong background in payroll. Accuracy, organization and attention to detail are essential for success in this position.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSManage multiple weekly payrolls including garnishments, vacation and sick/personal time, insurance and 401k deductions, cost accounting, union benefits and deductionsPerform account analysis and reconciliation related to payroll processingPrepare federal, state and local government payroll reports and file monthly, quarterly and annual returns and tax depositsEnsure company compliance with federal and applicable state laws regarding payroll and benefitsAssist and document employee termination process to ensure compliance with company policy and state and federal lawMonitor employee population for benefit eligibility and prepare all federally-mandated reports including ACAMaintain employment records related to events such as hiring, termination, leaves, transfers, or promotions and all changes initiated via employee portalMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSThe characteristics listed below are representative of those sought to perform this job successfully.Working knowledge of all functions associated with processing of payrollUnderstanding and application of HR laws within company policy and cultureStrong analytical and organizational skills with a high attention to detail and accuracyBasic knowledge of FLSA, FMLA, wage and hour laws, prevailing wage and certified payrollSelf-starter with the ability to research and solve problemsAbility to prioritize and multi-task responsibilities within time constraintsUnderstanding of general database functionality is preferredComputer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office software applicationsExperience with Viewpoint Vista is preferredEDUCATION + EXPERIENCEQualified applicants will have:Bachelors degree or equivalent experience required5+ years of payroll or HR experienceMulti-state experience preferredMulti-union construction payroll processing experience preferredABOUT THE KORTE COMPANYThe Korte Company was founded in 1958 on the belief that professionalism, quality and value added services are fundamental to a successful company.
