Overview:
The Payroll Administrator is responsible for processing our US, Puerto Rico and Canadian multi-state/province payroll for 6 divisions and over 1000 stores. Research and reconcile payroll and time/attendance issues. Supports all aspects of payroll, quarterly and year-end processes (including federal, state/province and local payroll tax filings, W-2s, T4s and workers compensation, etc.) for all legal entities. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, possesses significant knowledge of payroll administration including state and federal regulations.
Responsibilities:Processes weekly and bi-weekly payroll and compiles data to maintain accurate records. Assist in the day-to-day payroll operations for all areas covered by the team. Coordinate with internal team to deliver pay accurately and timely, within all regulatory, labor and tax guidelines. Participate in the review, verification and auditing of payroll. Reconciles payroll deposits and direct deposit credits (returned funds). Prepares manual checks/pay cards on an exception basis. Ensures that payroll-related transactions are processed in compliance with internal and external policies. Reviews and processes payroll adjustments. Fields and responds to payroll inquiries via phone and email communications. Research and ensure that payroll issues and discrepancies are resolved in a proper and timely manner. Assist with year-end payroll process including gathering and loading data for year-end adjustments. Performs other related clerical payroll duties as assigned
Qualifications:Minimum of 2 years experience in US and Canadian payroll processing. Experience with Union payroll a plus. Must be able to work in a high volume, fast paced environment. Strong customer service skills and ability to resolve issues. Strong Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) skills. Attention to detail and steadfast commitment to accuracy. Experience working with Dayforce preferred.
Travel may be required, based on business needs. Adhere to regular in-office presence, including to engage in in-person team interaction, meetings and collaboration. Job duties may be performed effectively using the hybrid work program designated by the company. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor as the company retains the right to change duties to this position. Must have authorization to work in the United States.
