Job Description:
Description The Payroll Analyst will report to the Payroll Director and is responsible for supporting and participating in all aspects of payroll processing. The Analyst will be responsible for reviewing payroll data to ensure accurate payroll processing. This position will be responsible for the analytical activities involved in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of earnings, deductions, tax, direct deposit, and garnishments data, as well as all other statutory regulations related to payroll. The Analyst will ensure system pay rules are accurate and consistently applied within the Time and Payroll modules, and will maintain expert working knowledge of federal, state and local taxation regulations and applicable benefits. Additionally, the Analyst will maintain an effective working relationship will all levels of employees across the university and will foster a collaborative and respectful work environment while providing exceptional customer service. Position Duties
  • Validate payroll data to ensure accuracy for payroll processing for the University.
  • Research and resolve employee payroll issues timely.
  • Manage timesheet audits and issue resolution to ensure hourly employees are paid timely and accurately.
  • Develop, document, and update procedures (SOPs) related to payroll processing.
  • Audit the semimonthly payroll for Staff, Faculty, and Students accurately.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for payroll and timesheet inquiries or issues.
  • Work with external auditors to provide testing samples to ensure proper controls.
  • Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local payroll regulations and standards.
  • Resolve employee help desk tickets timely.
  • Performs other such duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Supervision N/A Position Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years payroll and time system processing, preferably Kronos products.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Information Systems, or a related field preferred.
  • Proficiency in HCM/Payroll/Time software and systems (e.g., UKG, Kronos, Ceridian, ADP, Paychex, Workday) is required.
  • UKG Ready HCM system experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with data privacy and security standards.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel knowledge including pivot tables and v-lookups.
  • Ability to work under pressure in an environment with ever shifting priorities.
  • Experience handling confidential issues in a professional and discreet manner.
Work Hours Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM and additional time as required by duties of this position. This position is hybrid but requires a minimum of 1 days in the Pace Valhalla Office. No exceptions will be allowed.
