DescriptionJOB PURPOSE AND SUMMARYAdminister Payroll, Health and Welfare benefit plans, assists with leaves of absences, COBRA, and employee benefit issues for Kagome Foods, Inc. Works with HR Supervisor on resolution of personnel issues relative topayroll, government, company reports.Support the review, understanding and compliance of all programs, policies and procedures contained in the Food Safety and Quality Management System. Understand that I am responsible for reporting food safety issues observed so appropriate action can be taken. Understand my role in food safety and regulatory responsibilities as required by the SQF Food Safety Code and report any food safety concerns to initiate appropriate action. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Review time clock computer system. Oversees maintenance of time sheets. Approve/make adjustments to system from approved timesheets with review from HR Supervisor. Oversee labor reporting of hours worked and wages paid.
  • Input payroll changes such as salary, exemptions, garnishments, direct deposit and deductions for each employee. Maintain accurate and complete records of all payroll processing.
  • Process Management Payroll for Kagome Foods bi-weekly.
  • Review payroll preview reports for accuracy. Oversee paycheck distribution.
  • Oversee maintenance of all employee records both manual and computer. Assist in audit of personnel files to ensure compliance with all company and regulatory requirements.
  • Administration of employee benefits including tracking of sick/vacation, holidays
  • Track employee's evaluations and benefits timelines, preparing packets for both.
  • Assist in termination paperwork, data entry, final check preparation and termination of benefits.
  • Assist employees with benefits, payroll, policy, procedure and personnel issues.
  • Enter/track/maintain garnishments in payroll system.
  • Assist employees with Requests for Time Off, benefit issues and other related HR issues.
  • Keep up to date on Federal & State wage and hour laws.
  • Prepare information and reports for audits.
  • Prepare daily/weekly or as requested internal reports. Perform required government reports working under tight deadlines, employment verifications and other outside reports.
  • Assist/prepare benefits reconciliation for process of payments
  • Assist with and support company activities and functions
POSITION DIMENSIONS AND QUALIFICATIONSInternal Contacts: HR Manager, HR Supervisor, all managers and company employees. External Contacts: Governmental agencies, insurance representatives, medical representatives, prospective employees, payroll administrative company representatives. Education Level and Focus: High school diploma or equivalent and some college course work preferred, Fundamentals of Payroll certification required. Professional in Human Resources (PHR) Certification preferred. Administrative and Operations: Ability to perform multiple tasks, work under deadlines, prioritize and manage time, use good judgement.Attendance: Reliability and acceptable attendance is required. It is critical to be punctual and arrive on time for work and to meetings (if applicable). Productivity:Must consistently fulfill job responsibilities, knowing how to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively. If authorized to work remotely, must maintain the same levels of productivity and communication as they would in the office. Physical Demands: Heavy use of computer, sitting for long periods, occasional lifting up to 30 lbs. Work Environment: Office environment with many distractions and moderate to high noise levels. Periodically you may need to perform work tasks as needed in the plant, there are forklifts, and machinery with moving parts. This is a Safety Sensitive position. Special Equipment Used: Computer including specialized software packages, copier, Fax, 10 key, telephone.
