Position: Payroll and Compliance Administrator

Pay Rate: $23 to $30 per hour

Location: Full-time, on-site in El Cajon, CA

Position Overview

Ultimate Staffing Services is seeking an experienced and dependable Payroll and Compliance Administrator. This role requires a candidate with a strong background in payroll processing, compliance, and labor laws, particularly with prevailing wage requirements. The position is excellent opportunity for a qualified individual looking to advance their career in payroll and compliance.

Responsibilities
  • Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies.
  • Maintain and update payroll records.
  • Prepare periodic payroll reports.
  • Complete compliance contracts and maintain good standing with Prevailing Wage compliance.
  • Develop a training program for future use and train assigned employees for backup purposes or new hires.
  • Collect and verify timesheets, and enter employee information and payroll data into the system.
  • Answer employees' questions and concerns regarding payroll.
  • Calculate payable hours, commissions, bonuses, taxes, and deductions.
  • Process new employees, promotions, and terminations.
  • Act as overflow Customer Service Representative by taking calls as needed and performing other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug test.
  • High school diploma/GED; additional education preferred.
  • Previous experience in a payroll department.
  • Knowledge of payroll software and previous prevailing wage experience or knowledge.
  • Strong attention to detail and good math and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to multitask, and effective time management skills.
  • Team player with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
