Job Description:
Job Summary: The Payroll and Human Resources Specialist will manage the day-to-day operations of Payroll/Human Resources Office in Burgettstown, PA. Responsibilities include payroll processing for Hormann North America in the United States, as well as recruitment, policy interpretation and administration, employee relations, training, compensation, leave administration, recordkeeping, and other duties as necessary. Provides coaching and counseling support to management and supervisors in the areas of employee relations, performance management, training, and policy interpretation. Facilitates timely resolution of employee relations issues while maintaining an appropriate balance between employee and management advocacy. Major Responsibilities/Activities:
  • Full-cycle payroll processing on a weekly basis, UKG PRO experience preferred.
  • Must have multi-state payroll experience. Experience with union payroll is preferred.
  • Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations.
  • Manage Time Off policies within the UKG portal.
  • Provide personnel policy and procedure guidance to employees and management.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal and state payroll and employment law and compliance requirements.
  • Awareness of OSHA regulations and compliance.
  • Respond to human resources and payroll related inquiries.
  • Support recruiting efforts as needed.
  • Monitor employee morale and company culture.
  • Assist with processing complaints regarding sexual harassment, discrimination, or other instances of workplace harassment and assist in any necessary investigations and disciplinary actions.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in HR field or equivalent work experience.
  • At least 3-5 years of HR experience in a manufacturing environment preferred, with a focus on Payroll.
  • CPP or CPS certification preferred.
  • Computer skills which include a proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Can work flexible hours when required to complete necessary job assignments.
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks/projects and prioritize workload while paying attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical & problem-solving skills.
Essential Mental Functions:
  • The successful candidate must be a highly organized, self-motivated individual who can work independently or collaboratively as a member of a team; above all, must be solutions oriented.
  • Strong mathematical skills and data entry skills, proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Must be able to manage multiple tasks, priorities, and easily adapt to changing situations.
  • Write routine reports and correspondences.
  • Must have excellent communication skills, be trustworthy, and detail oriented.
Essential Physical Functions:
  • Individuals may need to sit or stand as needed.
  • May require walking primarily on a level surface for specific periods throughout the day. Reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist or lifting as required to file documents or store materials throughout the workday.
  • Proper lifting techniques required. May include lifting up to 25 pounds for files.
  • The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to the warehouse areas, therefore, he or she should be physically able to safely maneuver in that environment.
