Job Description:
  • Review all payroll related interfaces prior to releasing payroll.
  • Process Union & Non-Union payroll.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources (HR) and accounting teams with payroll processing.
  • Maintain accurate records and prepare reports weekly/monthly for each location.
  • Provide reports to Corporate HR, Accounting Managers & Controllers upon request.
  • Resolve issues and answer payroll-related questions. Identify areas of improvement and lead the implementation of new payroll processes and systems.
  • Maintain confidential information by adhering to legal and ethical standards.
  • Trouble-shoot and debug issues in processes, functions, and interfaces relating to HR, Payroll, Benefits, Pension, Time Entry, etc.
  • Ensure appropriate application of all State and Federal compliance regulations.
  • Identify areas for improvement and take initiative to implement changes that increase payroll effectiveness.
  • Manage and develop the Payroll Assistant on a day-to-day basis giving training and development where needed.
  • Liaise with auditors and manage payroll tax audits weekly/monthly.
  • Process payroll journal entries to General Ledger.
  • Export and import data into payroll database (pay increases, benefit changes, etc.).
  • Prepare payroll and 401K wire transfers for processing weekly. Collect and submit data for annual 401K audit.
  • Special Payroll projects as needed.
  • All other duties as assigned.
  • Associates' degree in business, accounting, or a related field required.
  • Two (2) years or more of payroll management or supervisory experience in a corporate payroll department required.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll software/ HRIS (ADP, Kronos) and MS Office (especially Excel).
  • Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining compliance and regulatory standards.
  • Work well while under pressure or in stressful situations
  • Proficient reading, writing, and mathematical skills.
  • Successful completion of accredited management training program.
  • Poultry, manufacturing, or other related industry experience a plus, but not required.
